Rear axle tires are 90% or better. Needs 3 tires on front drive axle. New a/c compressor. The 2 airbags on the front axle have been recently replaced. All shocks have been replaced recently. Brakes on 3 drive hubs are 70 % or better. Needs 1 air horn replaced (air leak). The access plate behind the bell housing has recently been resealed. Most likely that oil is coming from the bell housing gasket, and if it is, better to take it to a shop from my understanding as it is a bitch to do.
Jun 02, 2010 · We pulled it apart a third time, put heli coils in all the bell housing bolt holes, used lock tight on the bolts, torqued everything. Well, that truck has come back again. I changed the cap and it improved, but still causes a mist behind the coach. Took it to Cummins MidSouth and the replaced the EGR cooler, and pressure tested it and its not loosing pressure after an overnight test. Oct 13, 2011 · As far as the “inter-change” part of your comment… yes, the 53 series could be had with either an SAE no.3 or no.2 bell housing which would make it pretty easy to convert from gas power to diesel… especially with a no.3 bell housing if in a smaller truck.
